Family fun... and not so fun.

First Restaurant experience
So... it's Valentine's Day. We decide to go out since we haven't in a while... We thought "Oh, Sizzler should be pretty easy to get into if we leave early." WRONG!! AT LEAST a 20 minute wait. (It's not even 5 o'clock yet!) Who has time for that?! We are on Melanie's time and her dinner time is coming up! So we decided to hit the road and head to the Great Wall.
I had never been there before and Brian has told me how great it is. I had
been wanting some chinese food for a while so I thought, ok, let's just see about this. Let me tell you... BEST chinese I have ever had!! Wow! Clean, good, and affordable!
Melanie did so well there too. She even did a buffet run with me. She played with her toys and looked around, very patient and attentive. We were so proud of her!

Like Father, like Daughter....

Listening to Daddy read his card
After dinner, we sat down to relax and open up our cards. Melanie was more than happy to help daddy open his. She listened so intently while he read the first card. The holidays become more and more fun the older she gets!! By Christmas, she's going to be ready to open some presents on her own!!
It's hard to believe she will already be 6 months old on Easter! My, how the time flies when you are having too much fun!!

From Melanie...

3-2-1...... Ready for take off

Suuuuper Baaaaaaaaaaaaby!!

Headin to the Doctor...

Yesterday was her 4 month doc appointment. I always feel a little bad about taking her to the doctor, but I know it's for the best. But still.... Someday she's gonna see me as the bad guy!!
She weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds 2 ounces. 26 1/2 inches long
. She is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Down from the 97th % at 2 months.
She handles the Doctor looking her over pretty well, but when that mean nurse comes in to give her the shots... UGH!! Can anything be more heartbreaking at this point?! Now that she has actual tears, it's even harder to see her cry. She doesn't really do it very often, so when she does, it's pretty serious!!
So she is doing great health wise. She gets to start solid foods in a couple of months!! YAY!! That will be such a fun experience!! I know she will love it too! She's been watching us eat and she looks so interested! She is also starting to teethe... Her little gummie bears will be long gone and those cute little bottom bunny teeth will be there. There are so many more milestones to come and she is well on her way to conquering them all. It's all so bittersweet.

16 lbs. 2 ozs.

So far, so good.

Beautiful Girl

Then the fun ended....

(The hardest part of being a Mommy!)
