First Restaurant experience
So... it's Valentine's Day. We decide to go out since we haven't in a while... We thought "Oh, Sizzler should be pretty easy to get into if we leave early." WRONG!! AT LEAST a 20 minute wait. (It's not even 5 o'clock yet!) Who has time for that?! We are on Melanie's time and her dinner time is coming up! So we decided to hit the road and head to the Great Wall.
I had never been there before and Brian has told me how great it is. I had been wanting some chinese food for a while so I thought, ok, let's just see about this. Let me tell you... BEST chinese I have ever had!! Wow! Clean, good, and affordable!Melanie did so well there too. She even did a buffet run with me. She played with her toys and looked around, very patient and attentive. We were so proud of her!
Like Father, like Daughter....
Listening to Daddy read his card
After dinner, we sat down to relax and open up our cards. Melanie was more than happy to help daddy open his. She listened so intently while he read the first card. The holidays become more and more fun the older she gets!! By Christmas, she's going to be ready to open some presents on her own!!
It's hard to believe she will already be 6 months old on Easter! My, how the time flies when you are having too much fun!!

Suuuuper Baaaaaaaaaaaaby!!
Headin to the Doctor...
Yesterday was her 4 month doc appointment. I always feel a little bad about taking her to the doctor, but I know it's for the best. But still.... Someday she's gonna see me as the bad guy!!
She weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds 2 ounces. 26 1/2 inches long.
She is in the 95th percentile for height and weight.
Down from the 97th % at 2 months. She handles the Doctor looking her over pretty well, but when that mean nurse comes in to give her the shots... UGH!! Can anything be more heartbreaking at this point?! Now that she has actual tears, it's even harder to see her cry. She doesn't really do it very often, so when she does, it's pretty serious!!
So she is doing great health wise. She gets to start solid foods in a couple of months!! YAY!! That will be such a fun experience!! I know she will love it too! She's been watching us eat and she looks so interested! She is also starting to teethe... Her little gummie bears will be long gone and those cute little bottom bunny teeth will be there. There are so many more milestones to come and she is well on her way to conquering them all. It's all so bittersweet.
16 lbs. 2 ozs.

So far, so good.

Beautiful Girl

Then the fun ended....

(The hardest part of being a Mommy!)
All smiles
She has got to be the happiest baby we have ever seen!! She is always smiling! It doesn't take too much to keep her happy. Whether we are singing an impromptu song or dancing around the house, we are quick to bring a smile to her face.It is so sweet to have such a happy beautiful little girl in our lives!!
Reading her favorite book
I have been reading to her since the day we brought her home and I'd have to say that her all time favorite is the cat in the hat.
She is big enough now to look at the pictures. While Brian read to her, he showed her the pictures, which she found very entertaining. She laughed every time he turned the page. I'm not sure if it was simply turning the page or the excitement over the new pictures that did it. Either way, we found ourselves excited for the next page too, just to hear her laugh.Looking at the pictures
More pictures!
Playing with Daddy
She has been very interactive with Brian lately. Which he loves. There's nothing that can take his mind off of a bad day at work like playtime with Melanie! It is so cute to watch them together! She "talks" to him and he talks back and it goes on and on for a bit. I am so thankful for them!! Everyday is so amazing and it makes me feel so good to see them hamming it up!I see you , Mommy!
Her new favorite activity is playing in the exersaucer! There are so many fun and colorful things for her to grab and touch, along with lights and sounds. She is truly changing before our eyes!! Hard to believe she will already be 4 months old tomorrow! Her eyes are quickly starting to turn hazel, like mine. Her hair is actually starting to grow!! Although I will miss her cute little bald head, it will be fun to finally be able to put her hair in those cute little girly pigtails. The poor girl will no doubt have my hair, which she will more than likely curse me for when she gets older.Gonna get you!
Cutie pie
Time for bed
She is really into the dogs these days. Just the mere sight of them makes her laugh. I have a feeling there will be lots of chaos and laughter once she is able to play with them! They will be wearing each other out. (If that's even possible!)
